What Is Fortnite’s Original Map?
Athena was the name of the Fortnite map that was used for the entirety of Chapter 1. The map was held together by the Zero Point, which as per the game’s lore is a powerful sphere of energy that kept the whole island intact and in one piece. Many parties had aspired to destroy the Zero Point, which, as a result, would obliterate the map itself. The Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 1 map consisted of Greasy Grove, Pleasant Park, Retail Row, Anarchy Acres, Fatal Fields, Lonely Lodge, Flush Factory, Loot Lake, Moisty Mire, Wailing Woods and a few unnamed landmarks. Some of the well-known locations from the original map did stay or have returned over the chapters. Pleasant Park and Retail Row were present in Chapter 2, while Shifty Shafts, the racetrack, and Greasy Grove made a comeback with the start of Chapter 3. Even the massively popular POI Titled Towers, which is currently a part of the Chapter 3 Season 3 map as well has returned on several occasions, only to get destroyed later on. While it’s unclear whether the original map will ever come back or not, Epic Games have brought back several old POIs and features from Chapter 1. This might be the developers’ way of teasing the return of the old map, but nothing can be said for certain, at this point. Epic Games are known for their out-of-the-box ideas and no one can predict what they will do next. So, there you have it. That’s everything about what is the original Fortnite map?
