Over its 15 year run, the universe of Naruto has introduced us to many memorable characters who aided our hero on his journey to become Hokage. One of the most memorable of characters was former foe turned ally Neji Hyūga: child prodigy of the Hyūga clan and Hinata Hyūga’s cousin.
During the first part of Naruto, Neji held strong in his belief of faith being predetermined and that the weak will always be weak. His actions reflected those beliefs until he suffers defeat at the hands of Naruto during the Chunin Exams which causes Neji to reevaluate his stance, as most characters tend to do when they lose to the main protagonist.
Following their clash, the two become friends challenging each other to reach unparalleled levels of growth with Neji playing a huge part in assisting Naruto in the “Sasuke Recovery Mission” arc. From there, Neji unfortunately takes a backseat in the show until he is faced with a the opportunity to prove that he’s fully committed to the change of heart he experienced after his loss to Naruto. What Episode Does Neji Die? Answered
Neji dies in episode 364, “The Ties That Bind”, which takes place during the “Fourth Shinobi World War: Climax” arc. During this episode, Obito and the resurrected Madara Uchiha have successfully revived and control the Ten Tails beast. They tower above the Allied Shinobi Forces and pepper them with relentless attacks wiping out most of the Force. Naruto is integral to stopping the war and realizing that, Obito launches a deadly barrage of wooden spikes towards our hero. Hinata throws herself in front of Naruto, but Neji throws himself in front of both characters to save them, leaving Naruto stunned. When questioned why Neji chose to do what he did.
